Biography Krawczynski Sergey
(1852 - 1895).
I finished the course in military school, was for some time officer. Upon his retirement, fully joined the Populist movement of the 70-ies. He was one of the first who went "the people". They were written for propaganda among the people of the brochure "Mudritsa Naumovna" and other. Leaving half the 70-ies abroad, Krawczynski participated in the uprising of Herzegovina and try to bring the Italian Socialist revolutionary movement in southern Italy. In 1877, Mr.. Krawczynski returned to Russia and 4 August 1878. was one of the chief of police killers Mezentsov. The motives of this murder are set out in the pamphlet: "The murder of chief of police Mezentsov". . Leaving shortly after the murder Mezentsov again abroad, Krawczynski lived there until the end of life. Killed accidentally fell under a train. Abroad Krawczynski published under the pseudonym "Stepniak," Italian book "La Rossia sotteranca" ( "Underground Russia", 1893), translated into different languages and in Russian "Little House on the Volga", "Shtundist Pavel Rudenko, novel Andrei housing "and other. He was an editor of the English-language newspaper "Free Russia". Most of the works Kravchinsky collected and published in 1907. St. Petersburg publishing house "Torch".
