Biography Grigory Fyodorovich Lvov
(1830 - 1894). In his writings and arrangements of everyday tunes gave complete specimens in the spirit of ancient strictly ecclesiastical style. Placing an ancient melody is usually in the upper voice, he keeps it intact and obscures the rest of the votes, have, however, his face and moving freely. Despite the simplicity and moderation in discordant combinations, the harmony of his songs is diverse and interesting, and their musical content closely corresponds to the ecclesiastical texts. Published more than 50 of his compositions and arrangements of ancient Russian, Greek, Bulgarian and Greek-Slavic chants of whom are 4 "cherubic," "Power 6-th voice" and "The eight voices". - See.
