Biography ANTS Michael Nikitich
(1757 - 1807)
He studied at Moscow University, he served in the Izmailovo regiment in 1777 was elected member of the meeting amateur free speech Russia, in whose writings and published his early experiments. In 1785, M. was invited to teach Catherine II, Grand Duke Alexander and Constantine Pavlovich Russian literature, Russian history and moral philosophy. In 1802 he was appointed Deputy Minister of Education, in 1803 - the trustee of the Moscow University; sent both positions simultaneously, living mostly in St. Petersburg. He increased the size of Moscow professors from both the number of foreigners, . and the number of pets university (Merzlyakov, . Timkovsky, . Koshansky, . Chebotarev, . Boldyrev, . Wise and others) created a number of societies at the University of, . arranged surgical institutions, . clinical obstetrics and, . . Karamzin supplied for many of the materials on which the "History of the State of Rossiyskogo". In imitation of Virgil composed his "Eclogue" (1771). In 1773 appeared his "Fables in verse" and "Translated Poems. "Inhabitants of the suburbs and Emilievy letter" (1815) are autobiographical significance (memories of his childhood). Full collection of his works in verse and prose published in St. Petersburg, (1819 - 20, 1847, 1857). As a writer, M. was conductor of sentimentalism, imitator NM. Karamzin, who followed in the presentation of theoretical views on history ( "The teaching of history" and "On the history and historians").
