(1757 - 1841)
Peasant origin. For his prediction (days or even hours of the death of Catherine II and Paul I, the French invasion and the burning of Moscow) repeatedly found himself in a fortress and prison, and all had been imprisoned for nearly 20 years. By order of Emperor Nicholas I, A. was imprisoned in the Savior Efimevsky monastery, where he died. In "Russian Antiquity" for 1875. printed excerpts from the letters A, from his "Life" and "exceedingly terrific books."
