Biography Rezanov Nikolai
1764 - 1807 Was the office manager at G.R. Derzhavina, then Chief Secretary of the Senate. Was sent to Eastern Siberia for the establishment of marine affairs and streamlining shipbuilding; later headed to St. Petersburg, Russia-US affairs of the company (see). According to him was equipped first Russian expedition round the world, he was appointed chief of the head, his aides were Krusenstern (see) and Lisyanskii (see). However, as Minister Plenipotentiary, he received a commission to survey and arrange our possessions in North America and start trade relations with Japan and China. Speaking in 1803, the expedition arrived in Japan in 1805, the Japanese have not accepted it, and Rezanov, expelling the Japanese from Sakhalin and subordinating it to the Russian state, he went back to St. Petersburg, but died on the way. During the trip Rezanov kept a diary and made "Dictionary of the Japanese language" and "Guide to the knowledge of the Japanese language", these works are stored in the library of the Academy of Sciences.
