Biography RODCHEV Vasily Yakovlevich
Born in 1768 in St. Petersburg. Education received the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts, where his chief mentor was PI. Sokolov. After graduating from the academic course with the rank of Class XIV, and a large gold medal, while at the academy as a pensioner and in 1789 was sent to continue his improvement in Rome. Returning from there in 1795, acknowledges the appointment of academics for writing in foreign lands now "CB. Sebastian "(located in the Museum of the Academy) and defined a teacher of historical painting in the academy classes, which took place before 1798. In 1800, for the painting "Androkl" (in the museum of the Academy; the finished sketch - in the Moscow public museum), was elevated to the rank of Academician. In 1803, won the Academy as Adjunct Professor, but died the same year. Showed remarkable abilities, which prevented the full development of early death.
