Ban Gu

Born in 32 in Fufene (sovr. Xianyang, Shaanxi Province), the son of a noble scholar Ban Biao (3-34). In 62 became a court scholar, historian, 88 resigned, 92, having lost favor with the emperor, was imprisoned. He died at 92 in Luoyang, Henan province.
