Biography Richard Jordan Gatling (Gatling Richard Jordan)
(1818-1903) Born September 12, 1818 in Hartford County (pc. North Carolina) in the family plantation. From a young age helping his father in the improvement of agricultural machinery in 1839 and has already received his first patent - an invention of rice planter. In 1850 he graduated from the Medical College in Cincinnati (pc. Ohio), but the doctor never practiced. In 1844, settled in St. Louis (pc. Missouri) in 1850 constructed a number of new agricultural machinery and the propeller for a steam ship, which was patented in 1862. In the same year received a patent for his most famous invention - kartechnitsu, multi-bang-bang, which took a bunch of 6 to 10 trunks, as set forth in a longitudinal shaft.
