Biography Duguit Leon (Duguit Leon)
(1859-1928) Born at Libourne February 4, 1859. He studied law at the University of Bordeaux. He taught at the University of Caen. In 1883 became a professor at the University of Bordeaux, and then dean of the Faculty of Law. Duguit sought to develop a legal theory, avoiding any metaphysical concepts, and based only on observed data. Rejects the idea of subjective rights, based on the concept of will. Act, the conviction Duguit should be understood as a set of rules derived from social relations. Ideas Duguit influenced the legal and political philosophy of the time. Most fully his ideas outlined in Labor's treatise on constitutional law (Trait de droit Constitutionnel, 1921-1925). Died Duguit in Bordeaux, Dec. 18, 1928.
