Biography Vidkun Quisling (Quisling Vidkun)
(1887-1945) Born July 18, 1887 in Fyuresdale. He studied at the Norwegian School of War, where he graduated in 1911. In the 1920's was an employee of the mission by Fridtjof Nansen in Russia, representing British interests in the USSR. In 1931 - Minister of Defense in the cabinet Kolstada. In 1933 created the National Union Party (Nasjonal Samling). Visit Germany Quisling strengthened the belief in the rightness of Nazism, and after the Second World War Quisling made a fervent supporter of Hitler. After Germany's invasion of Norway in April 1940 declared himself head of state. In 1942 was named minister-president of Norway to the Reich J. Terbovene. After the war, Quisling was tried for treason and sentenced to death. Was executed in Oslo on October 24, 1945.
