Biography Maiolo Aristide (Maillol Aristide)
(1861-1944) Born in Banyul-sur-Mer (Roussillon), December 8, 1861. He studied at the School of Fine Arts and the School of Decorative Arts in Paris, studied drawing and painting in the class of Alexandre Cabanel. In 1899, loss of vision caused him to turn to sculpture. In established Maiolo monuments, in particular forms, Cц?zanne, Debussy and fell in Banyule, physical beauty of allegorical female figures embodied with great attention to the size and structure, balance and harmony. Maillol often turned to a female character. His works have always been a high level of performance. His work is the opposite of emotion and impressionism works of Rodin and his followers. Maillol died in Banyul-sur-Mer on 27 October.
