Biography Louis CHEVROLET (Chevrolet Louis)
Born December 25, 1878 in the town of La Chaux-de-Fonds in northwest Switzerland, education in France. Moving to the U.S. (1901), carried away by car racing and soon became a famous racing driver. In 1911, with financial support from W. Durant built a car of its own design. In 1920 and 1921 won the 500-mile race at Indianapolis (pc. Indiana) on the cars 'Chevrolet'. In 1936 he worked in the company, General Motors' head of department 'Chevrolet Motors'. Died Chevrolet in Detroit, June 6, 1941.
