In 1893, Mr.. Smolensk graduated from high school, and in 1899. diploma of degree 1 the natural faculty of St. Petersburg University. Since 1906. - Teacher of chemistry Tenishevsky uchilischascha - center of educational thought in pre-revolutionary Russia. This school was established the first systematic program in chemistry. Together with Professor. SI. Sozonova In. Produced a training book for school 'first work in chemistry' (1907), has withstood 10 editions; 'Textbook of Chemistry' (1915), reprinted 11 times. In 1918, Mr.. V. invited to head the department of chemistry in the newly organized in Petrograd Pedagogical Institute, in 1922. confirmed in the rank of professor., in 1933. he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Education Sciences.
