Biography LYAVDANSKY Alexander
(10.HI.1893, der. Yurtev Smalevichy district of Minsk province - 27.YIII.1937, Minsk, shot) Graduated in 1922. Smolensk branch of the Moscow Archaeological Institute. Studied at the Smolensk University, worked as a research fellow at the Smolensk Regional Museum and assistant professor at the University of Smolensk to 1927. Then he moved to Minsk, where he led the section of Archeology in BSSR until 1937, when he was repressed. Rehabilitated in 1958. Studies A. in the Smolensk region, covering a wide range of antiquities. He collected and published all available information at that time of the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron.
