Born December 25, 1919 in the village of Malaya Nike Minusinskogo district of the Krasnoyarsk Krai in a peasant family. Russian. Member of the CPSU since 1943. Childhood and adolescence spent in the city Minusinsk. Graduated from high school. Studied at Kansko agricultural college, graduated from the Flying Club. In the Soviet Army from 1939. Graduated Balashov military aviation school in 1940. He served in line units the Air Force.
Member of the Great Patriotic War from June 1941. In his role as commander of the Air Squadron 24-Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment (Aviation-range) to the beginning of 1944 made 336 sorties, . his crew to destroy enemy airfields 60 and shot down 10 planes in the air enemy.,

Dzerzhinsky. Since 1974, Colonel Kretov SI. Б┬ retired.
F ill in Moscow. Died Jan. 19, 1975. He is buried in Moscow on Vvedenskoye Cemetery. A bronze bust of the hero is set in the city of Krasnoyarsk Minusinsk. He was awarded two Orders of Lenin, two of the Red Banner, two of the Red Star and medals.
