M atrosov Alexander - platoon leader, 94-th separate reconnaissance company (82-th Infantry Division, 3rd Army, 1 st Belorussian Front), Sergeant. Born June 22, 1918 in the town of Ivanovo in a working class family. Russian. Member of the CPSU since 1943. He graduated from the school Б•ї 47. Worked as an assistant master at weaving factory. In the Red Army since 1938.
Member of the Great Patriotic War in 1941. Sergeant Matrosov, AA. in June 1944 led a team of 9 scouts had penetrated deep into the enemy's rear, crossed the Berezina River in the village Svisloch (Osipovichsky district, Mogilev region, Belarus), quietly removing the guards, seized the bridge over the river Svisloch.
