I cubes Ilya Fomich - fighter. Born July 6, 1919 in the village Housewarming now Monastyrshchinsky district of Smolensk region. He studied at the College of Smolensk connection. He graduated from the Smolensk aviation club, was there an instructor pilot.
In the Red Army from 1939. In 1940 he graduated from aviation school Odesskuyuvoennuyu pilots until 1942 was there an instructor pilot.
In Private WWII. From February 1942 to April 1944 was a pilot, deputy squadron commander of the 653rd Fighter Regiment (3rd Air Army). From April 1944 to January 1945 Б┬ assistant commander of the 65 th Guards Fighter Aviation Regiment.
. During the war has made more than 70 sorties, conducted over 25 air battles, in which he personally shot down over 10 enemy aircraft.
