Biography ATTICA Gerod (Tiberius Claudius Atticus Herodes)
Gerod Attic, Tiery Claudius Atticus Gerod; Tiberius Claudius Atticus Herodes, a marathon, 101-177 gg. n. e., Roman orator and statesman. One of the most prominent representatives of the second sophistry (cm. Sophists 2.) Was a teacher of the future emperor Marcus Aurelius, and Vera Lucia, enjoyed the location of Hadrian and Antoninus Pius. In 143 g. served in Rome, the position of Consul. A very rich, he began not only as an orator, but also as a generous philanthropist and builder of many fine public buildings, among them Odeon, Temple Tihe and stadiums in Athens and Delphi. Do not forget he and other cities such as Corinth, Olympia, Alexandria Troadskaya. Of the numerous works of GA. preserved in the original only a question of public administration (Peri politeias), so impeccably next Attic dialect and style of the end of V. BC. e. that many researchers believe it is not the product of GA. but the creation of one of the speakers at that time, such as Crete.
