The cosmonaut-tester of NPO Energia. Born April 29, 1953, in the village Kirya in Chuvashia. His parents - father, Mikhail Romanovich Budarin died in 1984. His mother, Alexandra Mikhailovna Budarina died in 1986.
In 1979 he graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze, with a diploma mechanical engineer.
After that, he held various engineering positions at NPO Energia, where he focused on experimental research and testing of space technology. In February 1989, H. M. Budarin adopted as a cosmonaut candidate astronauts test. In the period from September 1989 to January 1991 he took a full course of general training for space flight, passed the state exam and was qualified as a cosmonaut-researcher. From February 1991 to December 1993 he was preparing to fly on the Soyuz TM and the Mir station as a crew member. She has experience working in the main group of operators in the Mission Control Center. In January 1991 he began training as an engineer aboard the backup crew of the Soyuz TM-21.
1995 completed 75-day space flight on a reusable 'Atlantis' orbital station 'Mir' and the ship 'Soyuz TM'
Married to Marina Lvovna Budarin (Sidorenko). Has two sons - Dmitry, born in 1977 and Vladislav, born in 1983. Currently living in the city of Kaliningrad, Moscow Region.
