Biography Kizim Leonid Denisovich
Astronaut Russia. Born August 5, 1941 in the town of Krasny Liman, Donetsk Oblast of Ukrainian SSR (now - Republic of Ukraine). In 1958 he graduated from high school and next year entered the military academy. In 1963 he graduated from the Chernigov Higher Military Aviation School for Pilots. After graduating from college he served in the Air Forces of the USSR. In 1965 he enlisted in the detachment of Soviet cosmonauts (1965 Group of the Air Force? 3). It has been a full course of general space training and preparing to fly on spacecraft like the Soyuz and Soyuz T, as well as orbital stations Salyut. Together with Vladimir SOLOVYOVA performed six spacewalks totaling 22 hours 50 minutes. Returned to Earth on Oct. 2, 1984 on the Soyuz T-11. Length of stay in space was 236 days 22 hours 49 minutes.
