Biography SCHUKIN Alexander
Soviet cosmonaut. Born January 19, 1946. Childhood in the Far East, where he graduated from high school. After finishing school he entered the Military Aviation School, which graduated in 1968. Then he served in the parts of the Air Forces of the USSR. Then he graduated from the Test Pilot School and went on a test job. Mastered more than fifty types and modifications of aircraft. Without the separation of the test work graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute named after Sergo Ordzhonikidze. In 1978, enlisted in the detachment of Soviet cosmonauts (1978 group of pilots of the Buran? 1). It has been a full course of general space training and preparing to fly to the orbiter Buran and ships such as the Union. He participated in flight tests of analog orbiter BPS-002. As the captain made the 13th (05.10.1987) and 23rd (08.04.1988) test flights, as well as co-pilot - 5-th (20/06/1986), 6 th (28/06/1986), 9 th (29/12/1986), 11 th (21/05/1987) and 22 (02.04.1988) test flights. He was a member of the backup crew during the flight of the spacecraft Soyuz TM-4 (December 1987). Died Aug. 18, 1988 in a plane crash sport Su-26M. He was buried in Moscow on Bykovsky cemetery.
