Plotnikov, Nikolai Ivanovich

Born December 6, 1910. G. Bairam-Ali, the Turkmen SSR. He graduated from the Central Asian State University, Department of Hydrogeology (1932).

Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1960), Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1961). Director of Research Institute of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology (1965-1973). Professor (1973-1986), professor and consultant of the Department (1986) hydro-geological faculty.

Honorary member of the Academy of Natural Sciences (1992). Member of the Academic Council Office of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology, Geological Faculty. A member of a specialized council at MSU. Supervisor of the problem laboratory of the geological environment of the geological department (1983-1985).

. Winner of the USSR State Prize (1981) for the development of theoretical bases and intelligence fields of fresh groundwater, and their implementation, which provided an effective solution to the problems of water supply of large cities and industrial centers of the USSR
. He was awarded the title of Honored Scientist of RSFSR (1978).

Research interests: exploration of groundwater, hydrogeology, ore deposits. After graduation, he worked in the Central Geological Committee as Head of the hydrogeological party, then head of the hydrogeological expedition. In 1949, Mr.. conducted hydrogeological studies on ore deposits of Czechoslovakia. Since 1952, Mr.. Chief Hydrogeologist Mintsvetmeta USSR. The theoretical foundations of the theory of fields of groundwater that entered into a broad exploration of hydrogeological work practices in our country. Carried out a study on the effect of drainage on mining ore deposits on changes in the properties of the environment. Topic of Ph.D. thesis: Groundwater ore. Subject doctoral dissertation: Water in mining deposits.
