KONYUKHOV Alexander

Born on 6 August 1940. G. Moscow. He graduated from the Geological Faculty of Moscow State University (1962).

Candidate of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1968), Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences (1984). Senior Researcher (1976). Senior Researcher Department of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals Geological Faculty (1986). Deputy. Dean of the Faculty of geological work with foreign students.

A member of specialized councils K.002.86.01 at the Institute of Oceanology, RAH and D.053.05.04 at Moscow State University (1986).

Winner Prize. Gubkin (1989), I award the All-Union Society Knowledge (1990), III Prize MOIP (1990).

Research interests: marine geology and geology of zones of transition from continents to oceans. He participated in 11 expeditions in the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans and Mediterranean Sea, which resulted in new data about the geological processes occurring on the outskirts of the continents, particularly in the areas of regional upwelling. Been discovered and explored the underwater mud volcanoes in the Black and Ionian Seas, revealed the detailed structure of a number of deep alluvial fans (Danube, Inguri and Messina).
