Biography Zavoysky Eugene K.
Eugene K. Zavoysky was born September 28, 1907 in the town of Mogilev-Podolsk in a military family physician. In 1908 the family moved to Kazan. In school, the future scientist enthusiastically involved in Amateur Radio. In 1926 he joined the Physics and Mathematics of Kazan University.
.
. Name Eugene K. Zavoyskiy entered the history of science from the discovery of electron spin resonance (ESR) and a number of brilliant works on nuclear physics, controlled thermonuclear fusion and physical electronics
. EPR, initiated a new branch of physics - magnetic radiospectroscopy, was opened E.K. Zavoyskiy in Kazan in 1944. E.K. Zavoysky is the founder of Kazan scientific school of radio-frequency magnetic. In 1946-1947 E.K. Zavoysky was one of the first employees KPTI. The ideas laid down by him in the formation of scientific subjects Department of Physics, proved to be extremely fruitful. Today Kazan Physical-Technical Institute - is almost entirely the fact that only the department of physics, created E.K. Zavoyskiy.

Since 1984, KPTI SCK RAN named E.K. Zavoyskiy.

Since 1991, established the International Prize E.K. Zavoyskiy.

Opening of the electron paramagnetic resonance was one of the most important events in the physics of the twentieth century. Soon after the publication of the first works E.K. Zavoyskiy began intensive development of research in this area. In our country, in England, France, the United States and other countries on the basis of EPR have emerged and grown, many research centers. After the ESR were discovered nuclear magnetic resonance, ferromagnetic resonance, antiferromagnetic resonance, nuclear quadrupole resonance, acoustical magnetic resonance, many types of double resonances. Emerged and grew into a large self-magnetic field of science radiospectroscopy. In industrialized countries formed an entire industry, producing radiospectroscopic equipment.

Paramagnetic resonance has led to impressive progress in the technique. Example is the quantum paramagnetic amplifiers, accepted in principle the best devices of this kind. With their help, carried out deep space communications.

In late August 1947 he was transferred to CB-11 (Arzamas-16), where he participated in the works to build the atomic bomb. He was the author or coauthor of more than 10 reports. From Arzamas he left in 1951 and began working in Lipanov.
.
. For the shortest period of Eugene K. was one of the leading specialists in the field of nuclear physics and enriched its achievements, not inferior in importance to the discovery of electron paramagnetic resonance.
.
. Posthumously opening of the EPR was noted Prize of the International Society of Magnetic Resonance (1977).
