ISKANDER Fazil

(p. 1929).

Born on March 6 in Sukhumi in the family craftsman. He graduated from high school, received a library education.

In 1950 Iskander arrived in Moscow, goes to the Literary Institute, which graduated in 1954. Already a student starts to print (first published in 1952). Writes poems. Works as a journalist in Kursk, then in Bryansk. In 1959 - the editor in the Abkhaz section Gosizdat.

The first poetry collection - "Mountain Trail" (1957), "Kindness Earth" (1959), "Green rain" (1960) and others - received critical acclaim and recognition readers.

Since 1962, his stories are beginning to publish the magazine "Youth" and "Week". In 1966, of these stories collected by the first book "Forbidden Fruit".

But the really well known to him brings the publication of "New World" "Constellations Kozlotura" (1966). Were met with warm stories and novels: "Summer Day" (1969), "Tree of Childhood" (1970). Of particular interest in his work has caused a cycle of short stories "Sandro of Chegem" (1973).

In 1979, for "Metropole Iskander gave satire" The Little Giant great sex ". Peru Iskander owned children's stories - "Day Chica" (1971) and "Protecting Chica" (1983), which served as the basis for a book of short stories "Childhood Chica" (1993). In 1982 the magazine "Youth" came the writer's works - "Rabbits and boas, which took the extraordinary success. In 1987 he published a book of poems "The Way" and in 1990 - story "Parking Rights", in 1991 - a book journalism "Poets and kings"; in 1993 - "Poems" and the novel "The man and his surroundings". In 1995, in "The Banner" was published novel "Sofichka". F. Iskander has lived and worked in Moscow.
