Ivanov, Vladimir Ivanovich (11.3.1893, Tula - 15.3.1938, Moscow), party and state leaders. The son of a blacksmith. Educated at the medical faculty of Moscow University (1918). In 1924-25 a candidate member of the Presidium of the CCC, CPSU (b). Since October. 1924 Secretary of the Organizing Bureau of the Central Committee. On Feb.. 1925 1 st secretary of the CC CP (b) of Uzbekistan. In 1925, a candidate for membership in Feb.. 1934 Member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b). In 1927-31 Secretary of the North Caucasian Regional Committee, in 1931-36 1 st Secretary of the Northern Regional Committee of the CPSU (b). 1.10.1936 appointed People's Commissar of the forest industry of the USSR. 1/11/1937 arrested. As the accused attracted to the open mock trial in the case of "anti-Soviet bloc pravotrotskistskogo". Pleaded guilty in the organization of kulak uprisings in the Caucasus in 1928, to participate in a conspiratorial organizations, etc.. In their final statement said: "My crimes were reduced to actively participate in pravotrotskistskom block, treason, sabotage, sabotage, insurrection.
