Mezheninov Sergei Alexandrovich (7.1.1890, Kashira - 28.9.1937), military leader, Corps Commander (1935). The son of a nobleman. When the mass arrests began in the central apparatus of the Red Army, Mezheninov, which, in his own words, "carelessness and lack of vigilance brought to the loss of several papers, tried to commit suicide. He twice shot himself but survived and hospitalized. Immediately thereafter, a number of intelligence officers have written to him denunciations, accusing it of spying for Germany, and was arrested on 20.6.1937 Mezheninov straight to hospital. He refused to plead guilty and to confirm knocked out of his testimony during the investigation, 28/9/1937 sentenced to death. Shot. In 1957, rehabilitated.
