Luarsab I (1527-1556). In 1527 Luarsab with the king of western Georgia Bagrat III became king of Kartli Luarsab understood the danger fragmented Georgia. Iran and Turkey have fought for dominance over Georgia. Luarsaba worried about the fate not only of Kartli, but also throughout Georgia. He realized that we needed a robust and reliable alliance of all the kings and princes of Georgia. In 1556, in Kartli invaded Karabakh Beglarbeg. The battle took place near the village of Garisi. Georgian troops commanded by the son of Luarsaba Simon. The enemy was defeated and turned to flight. One of the retreating troops happened to be on the hill, where the king Luarsab observed the battle. Despite his advanced age, the king did not flinch and bravely took the fight, but his horse stumbled and fell. At this moment arrived, Qyzylbashs and mortally wounded king. Luarsaba buried with great honors in Mtskheta.
