Biography FOURIER, Charles
Charles Fourier (1772 - 1837) French Socialist. Criticized the present system of "civilization" and developed a draft plan for the future of society - the system of "harmony" in which to deploy all the human faculties. The primary unit of the new society, was "phalanx", combining industrial and agricultural production. He expressed understanding of future society (work as a need and delight, the destruction of the antithesis between mental and manual labor, etc.). Fourier believed that remain private property, classes, unearned income. New society to approve, Fourier series, by peaceful propaganda of socialist ideas. Writings: "The theory of the four movements and the general fate" (1808), "Theory of World Unity" (1822), "The new economic sotsietarny World" (1829). The followers of Fourier were. Considerant, Petrashevists etc.
