. 1764 - Raspe published the Latin writings of Leibniz, dedicating their Gerlach Adolf von Munchausen (1688-1770), a relative of his future character, Hanover Minister in London, the founder and curator of the University of Gottingen.

. Being a poor man, he sells some of the coins from the collection belonging to the Landgrave, to improve their financial situation. 1785 - Raspe produced the first 'book' 'Munchausen' (first published stories appeared in the German 'guide for gay men', 1781, 1783). Raspe's merit lies in the processing of material from the 'Guidebook' and turning it into an integral work, united by a common storyteller, and having a complete structure. In this book, at first put forward the idea of punishment lies, and the book itself is constructed as a typically British product, where all events are connected with the sea. The English version of Munchausen's adventures (German version-processing written a little later German poet GA Burger) is focused on the inhabitants of the British Isles, and contains a number of episodes, the most interesting and understandable is the British.
1791 - published in French and English catalog of the collection of John Taffy, who until then tidies.
1794 - Raspe intends to lay in a macro (Ireland), coal mine, but no time - at the end of that year he died of typhus.
Value Raspe for the development of German literature of the second half of XVIII century. lies in the fact that he has written to the interest of his countrymen to the ancient Germanic (Scandinavian) poetry. He also owns the credit of awakening interest in the Bible as one of the oldest works of world literature. Raspe Herder drew attention to a meeting of Bishop T. Percy stared in 'Ossian' MacPherson. He was one of the first who, feeling doubtful antiquity 'Tracks Ossian', however, emphasized the importance of works of this kind for the development of European literature.
