Biography Sacha Guitry
Guitry, Sacha (Guitry, Sacha) (1885-1957), French playwright and actor. Born February 21, 1885 in St. Petersburg (Russia). His father, Lucien Guitry, was a famous French actor. At twenty-one year succeeded his first play "Nono" (Nono); after a bright debut, wrote one after another, skillfully constructed play, the best of which was compared with the comedies of Moliere. All he owns 115 plays and 29 screenplays. In his work Guitry hailed 'true Gallic lover'. Among his films - "jewel in the crown" (Les Perles de la couronne) and "Roman deceiver" (Le Roman d'un tricheur). In 1935 published "Memoirs of a deceiver" (Mmoires d'un tricheur). After the Second World War, was accused of pro-Nazi sympathies, but was acquitted at trial. Guitry died in Paris on 24 July 1957.
