Biography Degrel Leon
Born June 15, 1906 in Buillone family Jesuit priest. In the 20-ies. Degrel been influenced by French nationalist Charles Maura and became a member of the reactionary organization "AcciцЁn France. He was convinced that the law, order and responsibility rest on the same general principle - the monarchy. Confessing the theory of racial purity, he attack the Jews, "who never wanted to be loyal citizens of any country". In 1930, leading a small publishing firm in Louvain, founded Degrel fascist organization "Rex" - the Belgian equivalent movement Mussolini in Italy. Extremely anti-Communist, anti-socialist, anti-Semitic and anti-bourgeois, he launched a movement that in miniature copied the trappings of Nazism: the huge mass rallies, parades, flags and bands. Flattered by imitation, Hitler spoke: "If I had a son, I would like it to be similar to Degrelya."
Belgian voters do not feel sympathy for the movement reksistskomu. He lost a key election in February 1937, when all other political parties were united against him. Rexism was revived in 1940 with the beginning of the occupation of Belgium Germany. In 1941 Degrel joined the legion Walloon volunteers to fight alongside the Germans on the Eastern Front. The Legion, originally numbering 850 people, after three years of fighting was almost completely destroyed.
In 1945 Degrel fled to Spain. The Belgian Supreme Court sentenced him in absentia to death for treason. In 1946 he went to Argentina and then returned to Spain. In April 1973 a Dutch TV crew found him in Madrid, where he lived in a luxurious apartment. Degrel praised Hitler as the greatest statesman of his time. "I regret that I failed to achieve the intended, but if I had a chance, I would have repeated the first, - said Degrel - but much more efficiently."
