Biography Paasikivi Juho Kusti (Juho Kusti Paasiviki)
1870 - 1957 Member of the Finnish Senate (1907-13), Minister of Finance (1908-9). Short time was Prime Minister at the end of the civil war in 1918 and headed the delegation, which concluded a peace treaty with Soviet Russia. From 1914 to 1934 he headed the largest commercial bank in Finland. Paasikivi was prime minister of a coalition cabinet (1944-46) and participated in negotiations with the Soviet Union before and after the Winter War (1939-40). His foreign policy, the so-called "line Paasikivi, emphasized the neutrality and friendly relations with the Soviet Union.
