Biography FORT Franö¿ois Fö?lix (Faure Franois Flix)
(1841-1899) Born January 30, 1841 in Paris. In 1862 he moved to Le Havre, where he founded Tanning. Participated in the Franco-Prussian War. In 1881 he was elected to the Chamber of Deputies, joined by moderate Republicans. In 1882-1885 and 1888 - Deputy Secretary of State for Colonial Affairs, in 1894-1895 - Minister of Marine. In January 1895, following the resignation of Casimir-Perier, was elected president. One of the organizers of the colonial expansion in o.Madagaskar, a supporter of strengthening the alliance with Russia. Opposed the revision of the Dreyfus affair. Faure died in Paris on February 16, 1899.
