Biography Diodorus (Diodoros)
Diodorus; Diodoros, of Tarsus, ca. 330-393 years. n. e., Greek Christian writer. He was one of the greatest scholars in the IV. After studying in Athens, his theological education he supplemented in the Antiochian school, then some time was a monk and abbot of the monastery. Subsequently, the disciples urged him to direct the Antiochene theological school. He studied, in particular, John Chrysostom. Emperor Valens sent him into exile for the orthodox theological views. After the death of the Emperor, he became bishop of Tarsus in Cilicia, took part in the Council of Constantinople in 381 g. 100 years after the death of Dr.. he began to suspect in the confession of the Nestorian heresy (cm. Nestor, Cyril of Alexandria). Probably why he killed the vast literary heritage. Of the surviving excerpts from other authors, we learn that he wrote the commentary to the Bible, also opposes Manichees, astrologers and pagan philosophers. In the biblical exegesis struggled with allegory, manifested the Alexandrian school, and commented on the Scriptures from a historical and grammatical point of view.
