Yuri Chaika: Politkovskaya murder solved
The murder of Anna Politkovskaya, an investigative reporter for Russia?s Novaya Gazeta daily, has been solved, Russian Prosecutor-General Yuri Chaika told on the sidelines of the ongoing meeting of the CIS prosecutors-general in Yerevan.
Chaika refrained from disclosing the names of the accused, but added that the case would be handed over to court.
"The case is solved, but it remains to be seen when the trial begins," Chaika said.
He appreciated active cooperation with the prosecutors? offices of other countries, including those of Ukraine and Latvia.
Politkovskaya was gunned down on October 7 inside the entrance to the apartment block where she had rented an apartment.
