Kidnapped uncle of Ingushetia leader released
The uncle of the president of Russia? s republic of Ingushetia, kidnapped in March, was set free on Thursday without any ransom or conditions, sources from republican law enforcement agencies told Tass.
The kidnappers brought Uruskhan Zyazikov to the settlement of Barsuki ahead of a major Muslim holiday and dropped him near the local mosque. Police, driving by, found the ill man and brought him home.
One of the close relatives of Zyazikov said "his condition leaves much to be desired". The man refuses to give details of his kidnapping and detention. According to the relative, they treated him reasonably well.
He did not see the faces of the kidnappers as they were always wearing masks. They spoke Russian and Chechen. He never got an opportunity to raze, have his hair cut and have a bath during almost eight months of his detention.
Uruskhan Zyazikov was kidnapped in Nazran by unknown people on March 23. Four armed unidentified people wearing masks and camouflage uniforms approached Uruskhan Zyazikov in a Vaz-21112 car as he was going to a mosque. They forced him into the vehicle and disappeared.
Criminal proceedings were instituted. The case is investigated by the department for particularly important cases of the republican Prosecutor?s Office.
Uruskhan Zyazikov has worked all his life in the rural sector. He is a veteran of war and labour. In 1976 the order of the Red Banner of Labour was awarded to him.
