Georgian politician and statesman Mikhail Nikolaevich Saakashvili was born 21 December 1967 in Tbilisi. He was the Central figure of the "velvet revolution" in Georgia in 2003, which culminated in the resignation of the Georgian President Eduard Shevardnadze. In January 2004 He was elected President of Georgia, a position he held until November 2013.
