Shell has decided to withdraw from shale gas projects in Ukraine
The Dutch-British oil Firm Royal Dutch Shell out of the project for the extraction of shale gas in Ukraine because of lower world prices for oil and natural gas, said the Minister of ecology and natural resources of Ukraine Igor Shevchenko. "not so long ago, Shell said of his desire to withdraw from the Treaty on the extraction of shale gas. The company did it from their own economic reasons, because of lower prices for gas and oil in the world, "said Shevchenko, reports" UKRINFORM ". at the same time the Minister said that the Ministry of environment is currently engaged in dialogues with other foreign companies on the establishment of the subsoil and extraction of shale gas. First of media stated that Royal Dutch Shell has suspended exploration for shale gas in Eastern Ukraine because of concerns over the lack of risk workers in and out of the project. In the last month of summer last year Shell due to the fall in the East of Ukraine has suspended all "practical work" on the Hughes site and the fulfilment of the obligations under the agreement on the exploration and production of shale gas. In July, Shell did not rule out a change of plans on drilling wells in the area of Hughes (Kharkiv and Donetsk region). In March, Shell stopped the dialogue with the new leadership of Ukraine on creation of the Scythian land on the Black sea shelf, the signing of which is expected before the end of last year. Remember, the previous government of Ukraine is actively collaborated with Shell. The head of the state Duma on international vzaimootnosheniam Alexei Pushkov in the last month of summer said that the terrorist operation in Eastern Ukraine unleashed by Kiev in order to be put under the supervision of a USA gas field near Donetsk.
