Budapest has stepped up intelligence for protection of Hungarians in Ukraine
Hungarian intelligence intensified work in Ukraine, said the head of the office of the Prime Minister of Hungary Janos Lazar. About it informs.
Speaking before Parliament a report on the restructuring of special services, he said that over the past year the security situation in Eastern Europe changed radically. Hungary borders with the country involved in wielding weapons of the conflict, said Lazar, and Hungarian agents in Kiev are working to protect the desires of Budapest.
according to his statement, the Hungarian government and foreign intelligence Information Bureau is confident that the issue of ethnic Hungarians in Ukraine seriously aggravated in the coming decade. Because of this, the Information Bureau for the first time in 25 years holds open operations on the support of the Hungarian minority in Transcarpathia, said Lazar.
This activity meets the resistance of the Ukrainian authorities, the Minister added. According to his statement, the Ukrainian foreign Ministry is doing everything in their power to obstruct the work of Hungarian agents and diplomats.
The Hungarian national minority is concentrated mostly in the Transcarpathian region and makes up about 12% of its residents. In may of this year, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in Parliament that " the Hungarian community should have dual citizenship, all public law, and must be allowed self-government."
