Killers of Vladikavkaz mayor seized - police source
VLADIKAVKAZ, February 10 (Itar-Tass) -- The killers of Vladikavkaz Mayor Vitaly Karayev have been seized, a North Ossetian police source told Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
"A large team of investigators has been working in the republic for the past 30 days. They have traced the perpetrators of the murder," the source noted. "As the killing of Vitaly Karayev was related to the murder of ex-mayor Kazbek Pagiyev, it is possible that the police have solved both crimes," he said.
Karayev was killed on November 26, 2008. The assailant gunned down the mayor when he was taking a seat in his official car near his home.
Pagiyev was killed in Vladikavkaz on December 31, 2008. He had been the mayor until February 2008.
