Vice-speaker of the Federation Council: Saudi Arabia will help the Crimeans to perform the Hajj
Residents of Crimea who are Interested in to visit Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj, will not face problems in the design documents at the Embassy of that state, said Vice-speaker of the Federation Council Ilyas Umakhanov after talks with Saudi Ambassador to the Russian Federation Abdurrahman Ibrahim al-Rassi.
"We discussed the situation of pilgrims from the Crimea, and once again received solid confirmation that the Hajj is outside politics. In this sense, all the inhabitants of the Crimea, Muslims who gather to perform Hajj, will have the opportunity to draw up the documents at the Embassy of Saudi Arabia, " said Umakhanov correspondents.
Crimea became a Russian region after the March 2014 referendum in which a Large number of residents, do not recognise the legitimacy of the February coup in Ukraine, voted for joining the Russian Federation.
