Scientists have unraveled the secret of Schrodinger's cat
An international team of physicists approached the creation of schrцІdinger's cat thanks to the original installation. This device is able to deter on-the-fly the diamond nanoparticles.
As they say in the article published in the journal Nature Photonics, physics at Rochester Institute of the United States came up with a setup that is able to contain on-the-fly the diamond nanoparticles with the laser beam and thus to force them to glow. According to researchers, this will allow them to use these stones to create a kind of analogue of the famous Schrodinger's cat.
"We have demonstrated that we can control the spin state of an electron in the nitrogen atom within such a levitating diamonds. If we will be able to completely stop the swaying of the diamond, it will allow us to "pull" the electron spin up and down, forcing diamond to be initially in 2 locations at the same time. Similar curious phenomenon, which we call macroscopic version of schrцІdinger's cat, in the highest degree interesting to study", says the head of the project Levi Neukirch
SchrцІdinger's cat is considered a "party" to a thought experiment proposed by Austrian physicist Erwin schrцІdinger in 1935, during which in a sealed box placed the cat and the mechanism that opens the container of poison in the decay of a radioactive atom, which may happen or not happen. In accordance with the principles of quantum physics, the cat is both alive and dead. From here originates the term "quantum entanglement".
Physics from Rochester Institute extremely close to the implementation of a similar experiment, conducting the experiment with nanodiamonds, inside which there is an unusual lack - a single touch in the form of the nitrogen atom. Now these valuable stones are widely used in experiments on the creation of quantum PC, as the spin of electrons in them are fairly easy to operate. Scientists have no doubt that they will succeed in the coming months to create the first "diamond" and macroscopic schrцІdinger cat on Earth.
