CSKA Moscow teen star Dzagoyev not planning to quit club
CSKA Moscow`s teenage star Alan Dzagoyev has dismissed rumors that he is set to leave the club for the English Premier League.
Nineteen-year-old Dzagoyev, dubbed the "new Arshavin," rejected speculation that he could be on his way to Liverpool or Chelsea, telling Sport Express that, "I haven`t even thought about leaving CSKA."
"I really like things at CSKA, and I want to play here," he told the paper.
Beslan-born Dzagoyev, whose partnership with Brazilian forward Vagner Love lit up the Russian Premier League last season, lost his place in the CSKA side after an injury, with trainer Zico preferring compatriot Daniel Carvalho.
"Losing my place in the side was a complete surprise," he said. "I`m not going to hide anything, I was really upset."
He also said that he entirely understood national team trainer Guus Hiddink`s decision not to call him up for the recent World Cup qualifier against Finland in Helsinki.
"When you don`t play for your club, who is going to call you up for the national side?" he said. `I understand very well that I can only return to the national team when I start to play regularly for CSKA."
