G8 top lawmakers to discuss drugs control in Rome
Heads of the parliaments of the G8 member states will meet in Rome on Saturday and Sunday to discuss the role of lawmakers in the fight against drugs and promotion of intercultural dialogue.
The top lawmakers will meet on Saturday with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano and Mayor of Rome Gianni Alemanno and will later hold a closed session.
On Sunday the heads of the parliaments plan to hold meetings to discuss the promotion of an intercultural dialogue and social integration.
The Group of Eight leading industrial nations includes Russia, Britain, the United States, France, Japan, Germany, Canada and Italy, which holds the rotating chair in the organization this year.
