Bitter coffee like sadists and daffodils
Austrian researchers have learned that addiction to bitter foods are associated with the presence of psychopathic traits. So, it turns out that coffee and love to drink tonic people, prone to violence and manipulation.
Specialists in psychology of the University of Innsbruck behalf of Leopold and Franz (Austria) found out that frequent consumption of bitter foods (coffee, tonic) says about the presence of a planet inclination to machiavellism (the desire for manipulation), sadism and narcissism, informs Independent. In other words, these people are selfishness, duplicity and the pleasure from the suffering of another.
In the experiment scientists involved 500 guys and ladies were asked to rate the taste of products from the list, which included bitter, salty, sweet and sour food. Thus, respondents were supposed to assess, for example, chocolate cake, radish or bacon on a scale from 1 to 6, ranging from dislike of the product to the evaluation "strongly like".
Further, the survey participants were asked to fill 4 of the questionnaire, which measures specific personality traits - aggression, predisposition to narcissism and psychopathy, psychological stability and sadistic. "Bitter taste preferences proved to be a reliable indicator of machiavellism, psychopathy, narcissism and everyday sadism" - say the authors work. Among other things, researchers found a negative correlation between tenderness and kindness inhabitant of our planet and passion in bitter products.
