Shell out of shale project in Ukraine
Dutch-British oil Firm Royal Dutch Shell eventually withdrew from the project for the extraction of shale gas in Ukraine, said the head of the Ministry of energy and coal industry of Ukraine Volodymyr demchyshyn. "Shell has pulled out of this Treaty ", ? quotes his words UNIAN. However, he clarified that the project of development of deposits of hydrocarbons on the Yuzivska area, which is held through the company " Nadra Yuzivska ", not closed and Ukraine will seek a new investor." If before the end of the year "Nadra Yuzovsky" 't find investors, I think that the Firm will be liquidated, " - said Demchyshyn. The head of the Ministry has added his words by the fact that the Shell Company six months ago, said it planned to withdraw from the project." Shell With similar price conditions, this project is not interesting ", - said Demchyshyn, adding that there may be an investor, which would be beneficial to work on the fields. In June the head of the Ministry of ecology and natural resources of Ukraine Igor Shevchenko said Shell said the desire to withdraw from the project. First of media stated that Royal Dutch Shell has suspended exploration for shale gas in Eastern Ukraine because of fears for no danger of workers in and out of the project. In the last month of summer last year Shell due to the fall in the East of Ukraine has suspended "practical work" on the Yuzivska area and the portion of the commitments under the agreement on the exploration and extraction of shale gas. In July 2014 Shell has not ruled out changing plans to drill a well on the Yuzivska area (Kharkiv and Donetsk region). In March, Shell has stopped the dialogue with the new leadership of Ukraine on the establishment of the Scythian area on the Black sea shelf, the signing of which was expected before the end of the year. Remember, the former government of Ukraine actively cooperated with Shell.
