Boeing fuselage found off Lebanon after deadly crash
The fuselage of an Ethiopian Airlines plane that crashed off Lebanon yesterday has been discovered in the Mediterranean and is being retrieved, a Lebanese TV channel said on Tuesday.
Ninety people were on board the Addis Ababa-bound Boeing 737 that disappeared off radar screens five minutes after takeoff in stormy weather in Beirut.
Fourteen bodies are reported to have been recovered so far, and rescuers believe most of the bodies are still in the plane, Al Mustaqbal reported. There have been no reports of survivors.
Lebanese and international rescue teams have been searching for victims and flight data recorders. The plane is believed to have broken up in the air before plunging into the sea. Lebanese officials have ruled out terrorism as the cause of the crash.
