American Olympian scandal in Rio
American Olympian said that he and three of his teammates was robbed under the threat of use of weapons. Brazilian police say it is not.
After several days of confusion about what actually happened to lochte, James Feige, Jack Conger and Gunnar Crown, is now live the greater part of the incident, which occurred at a gas station early on the morning of 14 August.
Benz and Conger testified Thursday, denying that they have become victims of robbery and said that the version of events presented lochte was not true, reported civilian police.
The Director General of the Olympic Committee of the USA apologized for the incident. On Monday, lochte called it a robbery. Brazilian authorities do not agree. One thing they agree on is the gun that was found at the scene. However, history seems to disagree on one point - when lochte again got into a taxi after stopping at a gas station.
The U.S. Olympic Committee has released an apology for the incident. "The behavior of these athletes is not acceptable and does not represent the values of team USA or the behavior of the vast majority of its members. We will continue consideration of the matter and any possible consequences for athletes when we get back to the United States, "said USOC CEO Scott Blackman.
"On behalf of the Olympic Committee of the United States, we apologize to our hosts in Rio and the people of Brazil because of this distraction testing in the midst of what rightfully should be the celebration of excellence."
The statement said that the incident as they understand it, happened at a gas station. Four of us stopped to use the restroom, where one of them committed an act of vandalism. The investigation revealed that the guards stopped athletes and was asked to leave the station
