In Afghanistan, a group of tourists were attacked
A group of 12 foreign tourists, were attacked by the Taliban in Western Afghanistan. Up to 5 people were injured, said the Governor of Herat province.
Tourists from USA, UK, Germany and Scotland were in a convoy, said the press-Secretary of Farahi. Nationality of the wounded is unknown. Farahi stressed that all injuries were minor.
Farahi said the team accompanied by Afghan security forces were moving from Ghor province to the province of Herat when their vehicle was ambushed by Taliban fighters in the area Chist Sharif, about 120 miles from the city of Herat.
Initial reports indicate that the group was traveling from Kabul to Bamiyan and then to Ghora and Herat. Usually Western embassies have warned their citizens about travel to Afghanistan because of the threat of kidnapping or attack.
